Props
Props is an easy way to have more guest interaction. While not every guest will use them, the ones that do enjoy them! Here are some benefits:
Instant Icebreaker: Props help people loosen up. It’s easier to get silly or creative when you’ve got a goofy hat or giant sunglasses on it takes the pressure off posing perfectly.
Adds Personality: Everyone can pick a prop that matches their mood or sense of humor. You get funny, cute, cool, or even themed looks based on what’s available.
Encourages Creativity: Props give people a chance to act out little scenes, pose dramatically, or invent characters. It turns photo-taking into a mini performance.
Themed Vibes: Props can match the theme of the event (wedding, 80s party, Halloween, etc.), which ties everything together and makes the photos feel extra special.
Even Shy Guests Join In: Props give people something to do with their hands or face, which is a lifesaver for camera-shy folks. Suddenly it’s not about how you look, it’s about having fun.
Prints
Photo booth prints hit different and here’s why they feel extra special, especially for people who don’t usually get professional-looking or printed photos:
Tangible Memories in a Digital World:
In a time when most photos live (and die) on phones, a printed strip or 2x6 from a photo booth becomes a keepsake. It’s real. You can stick it on a fridge, put it in a scrapbook, or tuck it into a wallet. It sticks around, unlike the hundreds of phone pics that get lost in the shuffle.
Candid, Unfiltered Fun: Photo booths catch people relaxed and natural, laughing with friends, being goofy with props, or just having a moment together. Those spontaneous snapshots often turn out to be the most genuine and cherished.
Instant Souvenir: You walk away with something right then. It’s not a photo someone promises to send later (and forgets). It’s a little time capsule from the night, often customized with the event’s date or theme making it both fun and meaningful.
Group Memories, Captured: People who might never be in a photo together; coworkers from different departments, distant cousins, or new friends, get in the booth together. It brings people into one frame, often for the first (and only) time.
Party Tricks
Not sure if this is actually a party trick, but there are a few other purposes for a photo booth.
Captures Who Was There: The visual sign-in book. This is especially true at weddings, some hosts use the booth as a creative check-in or guestbook; photos of everyone as they arrive become a visual guest list, full of personality and style. One option of the photo booth with prints is having one print printed for the host (bride and groom) and inserted into a custom photo book designed for 2x6 prints. The host will be able to keep the book at the end of the event. Some books come with a signature and note area where guests can write their name and a little message for the host. This is a great improvement from the traditional guest sign in books of the past!
That Red Carpet Feeling: Want your guests to feel like they are on the red carpet? Taking a quick picture of everyone as they enter will help ensure that red carpet feeling!
Sets the Tone of the Event: Walking in and seeing a photobooth instantly tells people this is going to be a fun event! No better way to set the stage than with a photo booth.
The truth about backdrops
There are pro's and con's to backdrops. An elaborate backdrop is eye-catching and absolutely levels up a party. At a photo booth the reality is you only see a small space that is behind you. I often tell people do not spend a lot of effort on elaborate photo booth backdrops. See examples below on how much of a backdrop can be seen.
I offer free backdrops in a variety of solid colors. If you are looking for a custom backdrop, we can design one ahead of time or I can provide a list of companies that specialize in various other backdrops for parties.

Inside or Outside photobooth
In the above images (I'll admit these appear grainy when blown up, the actual images are nice and crisp) are all made with custom templates that are of no extra cost to the event organizer. Custom print templates can be designed to include a logo, a specific date or names.
The image on the top used a backdrop supplied by Champagne and Blue Jeans., a vendor in my area. It was a blue backdrop with some silver fringe. The image on far left was taken inside and used a solid white backdrop and the middle and far right were both taken outside. The image in the middle was taken in front of the hostess's garage area. She has these lovely large white barn doors. This made for the perfect backdrop for this occasion.
The far-right image is also taken outside. This venue had an old building on the property and made for a perfect backdrop.
When using a booth outside, buildings make for a great natural backdrop. When using custom templates that have color, sometimes less of a backdrop is more. A solid white backdrop will look good on those custom templates. A white backdrop is one of the free backdrops I make available for my clients.
The hidden easter egg
This past week it was Easter, and I was fortunate to have a little one hunting plastic eggs on our property. A day or so afterwards, we came across an egg that was left behind. In honor of those late surprises, I am offering $100 off of my photo booth with prints, and $50 off with no prints. Booking site: Northern Huddle Photography (hover on the name and click) Coupon Code: HiddenEgg25 Here's the scoop: it auto defaults to $100 off prints vs the $50 off non-prints. If you book non-prints, I will adjust the price on my end. This discount is good for any event booked by June 1, 2025. Don't see a date you need, please reach out to me at 218.213.1926!
